I did a lot of different things in making this song. This is a song that really came together when I heard the mix of the pitchshifted guitar with the omni run through different pedals. Suddenly, it screamed out gothy murder ballad but then I wrote the lyrics and it headed another direction.
lyrics
The telephone stopped ringing
And I don't know where you are
My mind can't let the darkness go
All the miserable scenarios
The clock marches against me
I cannot shake the fear
The witching hours come and gone
I scream against the coming dawn
Darling, did you lose your way?
Are you walking with the ghosts?
Are you at the bottom of the lake?
Are you ever coming home?
The roads are slick with rain
And the clouds are black and sick
The morning brings new agonies
New visions of catastrophe
I hold on to strands of hope
But I'm a slave to time
The crushing blow has come
I scream against the setting sun
Darling, did you lose your way?
Are you walking with the ghosts?
Are you at the bottom of the lake?
Are you ever coming home?
Darling, did you lose your way?
Are you walking with the ghosts?
Are you at the bottom of the lake?
Are you ever coming home?
